YWCA Northeast Kansas has been a groundbreaking, trailblazing, and steadfast movement in Northeast Kansas for 135 years. We've never wavered from tackling crucial issues in our community - and we're committed to advancing our mission in 2023 and beyond.
Your business or organization can invest in this work by becoming a sponsor of the 2023 YWCA Women of Excellence Awards & Gala. Not only will your support make Northeast Kansas' oldest and largest women's empowerment event possible, you will enable our organization to continue to further our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women in Shawnee, Jackson, Brown and Wabaunsee counties in the year to come.
Your return on investment is powerful. Our transformative work is done effectively and resourcefully. In 2020, YWCA Northeast Kansas ranked 11th nationally among YWCAs for number of unduplicated Individuals served in our community.

Over the last three years, we have served an average of 13,000 individuals annually in a wide array of programming:
- In our Center for Safety and Empowerment, we served 3,796 survivors of domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking including 24/7 hotline services to 2,344 clients, and 218 survivors served in our shelter in 2022
- With the rise in demand for racial justice education beginning in 2020, we have served over 400 individuals in our community through our racial justice book club, Racism 101 seminar, and racial justice facilitator trainings. We saw this demand for educational and advocacy opportunities continue to increase in 2021 with over 800 participants in our inaugural Stand Against Racism Challenge, and 600 in 2022.
- We supported over 90 families of children in our FEATS program, where students received hands-on tutoring and interactive STEM programming through the Flying Classroom curriculum.
