Peace Outreach Project (POP)
The Peace Outreach Project, (POP) is a collaborative partnership with Family Peace
Initiative (FPI). The POP program is committed to promoting hope, healing and
restoration with compassion, integrity and expertise.
Why POP
In an effort to support our community, the POP program was created to assist juveniles
entering into a court appointed diversion for more serious or violent offenses. It is
designed to help them learn skills and tools to become more personally responsible for
their behavior. Empowering them in learning how to reconcile and repair offense, to
create a safer environment for not only themselves but their families and community.
Benefits of POP
Family Peace Initiative program focuses on the development of healthy families and
relationships with an emphasis on emotional awareness, emotional regulation, personal
responsibility , and personal accountability.
This program is for youth engaged with the justice system. It provides an opportunity
for youth to learn more about themselves, become accountable, and take steps toward
achieving their life goals.
The Topeka Center for Peace and Justice program provides victim/offender mediation
using the restorative principles focusing on resolving conflict through dialogue and
creative problem-solving rather than by violence.
It holds offenders accountable, gives victims a voice to share his/her actions/choices. In
