The Process
- Juvenile is referred to TCPJ
- State Approved Mediator and Trained Neighborhood
Volunteer - Meet with the juvenile.
- Harm caused by the Juvenile to the community is highlighted.
- The Juvenile takes responsibility for their actions.
- Juvenile and NAV work together to form an agreement
that repairs harm.
Community
Neighborhood Accountability Volunteers (NAV's) give the community a voice when harm is committed in Topeka or Shawnee County. Both the offender and those who have been harmed share their stories and work toward resolution that juvenile offenders may rejoin the community as productive citizens.
